Legal Compliance is Our Minimum Operating
Standard
Our Health Policy
The health and safety of our employees and those working
alongside them is a key priority at all levels of the business.
We are committed to achieving continuous improvement and
ultimately attaining industry-leading standards of performance for
health and safety to ensure our employees go home safe every day.
In 2010, we developed the Home Safe Every Day
campaign, aligning our health and strategy with our core
values. Ensuring all our employees return to their families
each day without injury, the VT Group Health and Safety Policy and
Health and Safety Requirements and Expectations documents are the
vision and framework for our operations, joint ventures,
partnerships and supply chain.
Our business units also formed the Health and Safety Council,
which reports to our senior leadership team. This forum:
In addition, each business unit is responsible for conducting
its own audits, incident reviews and inspections and establishes
clear lines of responsibility, expert advice and support.
This helps us evaluate compliance and verify performance and
enables ongoing health, safety and environmental monitoring and
evaluation.
Our Safety Policy
VT Group is committed to the health, safety and protection of
employees from injury or occupational disease. We strive
toward an accident-free workplace through effective administration,
education and training. Should an injury occur, we will
facilitate the quickest and safest return to work of employees.
Our Philosophy: Our stakeholders' well-being is
dependent on the health and safety of our workforce. We
promise that every reasonable precaution will be taken for the
protection of all employees. No job is to be regarded so
urgent that time cannot be taken to perform it in a safe
manner.
Supervisors are responsible for the health and safety of our
employees and are required to ensure the safe use of machinery and
equipment in compliance with established safe work practices and
equipment procedures. Workers must receive adequate training
in their specific work tasks to protect their health and
safety.
All supervisors, employees and subcontractors must protect the
health and safety of themselves and their fellow workers by working
in compliance with the Occupational Health and
Safety Administration (OSHA), U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA), all applicable regulations
and safe work practices and procedures established by our
company.
We recognize that a safe work environment can be established and
sustained only through a united effort. Your attitude and
cooperation in promoting accident prevention assists in achieving
our goal, Home Safe Everyday and makes our company a great
place to work where employees share in the company's growth and
success. Let's all work together to prevent unwanted losses
and personal injuries or illnesses.
