Center's Wallops Flight Facility Consolidated Operations
Support Services including Security and Emergency Support
Services
VT Group provides 24/7/365 security services to one of NASA's
oldest launch sites in the world, located on the Eastern Shore of
Virginia. This includes:
-
Comprehensive secure computerized isolated facility (SCIF) and
workforce support center services, security access and visitor
control, Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP) and exterior
facility security.
- Armed guards staffing at the
main entrance and the operation of a 24/7 Reception Center and
Identification Section on the Main Base for employees, visitors and
a security management information system.
We operate two fire and rescue stations under the Wallops
Institutional Consolidated Contract (WICC). Each
station is equipped to handle structure fires, aircraft fire and
rescue. The stations of WICC also participate in a mutual aid
agreement with fire stations of surrounding communities to provide
an exchange of services when needed. The airfield at WFF not
only serves as a landing site for aircraft but also a tracking
station and alternate landing site for the space shuttle.
